Please join Michelle Cohen-Coté, registered somatic movement therapist and educator, for a special workshop on Saturday, April 25th from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm in the heart of Union Square in New York City to study our body systems through movement and lecture.

This workshop is particularly geared for movement professionals, bodywork practitioners, physical and occupational therapists, dance therapists, therapists, performers, and artists but also welcomes newcomers to the field of movement with an eagerness to learn.

This six-hour course provides an overview of the anatomy of the physiological body systems with emphasis on our skeletal, muscle, organ, fluid, gland, and nervous systems. Our methods of learning will include discussion, studying anatomical drawings and models, and kinesthetic learning. We will also examine through movement and dialogue the practical applications of anatomical concepts that one could apply in dance, yoga, or Pilates classes, private training sessions, focused bodywork or self-care, choreography or performance, mediation practices, or other forms of specialized movement techniques.

This workshop is approved as 6 hours of prerequisite study for Dr. Martha Eddy’s Body Mind Dancing and Moving for Life programs as well as 6 contact hours of continuing education for certified Yoga Alliance yoga teachers.  This work is based on principles from Body Mind Centering® and Dr. Martha Eddy’s Dynamic Embodiment®
